About Me
I started my career in admin as an accounts assistant, working my way up to Office Manager within 5yrs.
I took a ‘career break’ in my 20’s to travel the world as a Flight Attendant for Japan Airlines. The terrible events of 9/11 changed the airline industry and so I returned to the North West in a joint PA role for the Hospitality Director at UCLan as well as Accountant/Conference Organiser for the dept. Whilst working here, I studied Interior Design in my spare time and upon achieving an A-level equivalent, moved into the world of interiors as a self employed Bedroom Designer for Hammonds.
It was here that I was head-hunted by a Property Developer to work as an Interior Designer/Property Sales Manager, which I did for several years before having my little girl.
Following maternity leave, I was then head-hunted a 2nd time and moved into Kitchen Retail, working for KAM Design as a Kitchen Designer for 10 years. I earned 5* reviews, was shortlisted as a top 4 finalist in the KBB Kitchen Designer of the Year Awards in 2021 and won the Siemens Studioline Kitchen Design Award for Q3 in 2023.
Introduction to Switch Property Group
I met Dean from Switch Property Group a couple of years ago, as he was managing a new-build site that I provided kitchens for. We’ve worked together on a few projects in that time and as Switch has grown, the company has increasingly found a need to expand the workforce behind the scenes. Dean felt that I had the perfect skill-set to fulfil that need and so I was head-hunted for the 3rd time!
Expertise
I have learnt valuable organisational, design and financial skills, as well as gaining plenty of experience in engaging with customers, all of which I feel will put me in good stead to project manage the various sites that the Switch Property Group are currently on with, as well as those lined up in the near future.
I am very much looking forward to the challenge (as well as adding a ‘girly-touch’ to the interiors of the Switch office in Freckleton – these two boys have been left to their own devices for too long, haha!)
Outside of Work
Outside of work, (when I’m not a mum-taxi), I enjoy walking my Springer Spaniel and am a keen gardener. I have a couple of volunteering roles and am the Club Treasurer of Cadley FC, the local grassroots football club that my daughter plays for. I’m also a member of my local Friends of Park group and maintain the socials for them.
